1. I've started a massive SPAM purge, any accounts that have spammed are being removed, also for a short period new user signups are disallowed until the SPAM cleaning is finished.

Have you tried the new outlook?

Apparently, according to Mashable, over a million users signed up to the new service in the first 6 hours.

    Can it compete with Gmail?

I'd have to say yes - it's slick, and much, much faster.

Got a link ? i havent seen anything about it. I currently use outlook 2007 . Is it a local application or is it remote like Gmail, I personally cant stand web based emails like Gmail and hotmail , probably because i like to be in control and have full access to everything

    Yup, just outlook.com :)

I'm with you, I use Sparrow...

I've also just heard that hotmail is being killed and rolled into Outlook.

Ah right , basically taken over live/hotmail as i clicked the link and it logged me straight into it with my hotmail account . Something ill never use because its not secure enough because you have to use the same login for xbox live, live messenger and now outlook. As soon as you login to xbox with bypassed firewall router settings my Live messenger gets spammed to hell and so do my contacts so ive stopped using all of their services and switched to Skype now.

Yeah, they're tweaking and adding over time, but in a nutshell they're trying to take compete with gmail. I assume this is part of the push that's coming with the new windows software.

I can't believe it's been 8 years since they updated Hotmail.

I've been using the new web based Outlook for some time now. It's a lot better than Hotmail and I'm glad Microsoft developed it. It's way faster and more professional looking than Hotmail was.
