I have not yet tried Dmoz. I have seen this website. It is a open directory project. If any one has tried this directory then can you tell us how long it takes for activation.

And what is the use of being an editor in that directory? It says, become an editor. What work does an editor does? How it can help our business?

it is very hard to enter into dmoz now a days .. you must know editor to enter over there besides there are many other directories like Bussiness.com & Ezilon which look professional and easy to enter

And what we should do if we want to become an editor? If at all we become an editor then it shall become to list our own site as well. Right?

wow cool! HOw did you made them list you? I've submitted a .edu.ph (educational institution) site on DMOZ but until now they didn't approve it but they approve geocities site. I don't know if I will submit more to them it seems that it will be useless for they don't even give a d@mn if you have submitted.

Yes, me thinks that the apparent arrogance (which is of course a synonyms for ignorance) of the current editors of DMOZ, is making this "open Directory" increasingly irrelevant !

In fact, there is a lot of scope for stand up comedians, in the "Open Directory" label for DMOZ, as it is any thing but OPEN now :)

Yes, but they take too much to approve the listings. More than 3 months.
