If you host all of them on the same account and your account is down, all of your websites will be gone for few minutes, hours or maybe days. 2. Deal with different companies, because you never know... Maybe the company where you host your website will to go bankrupt and you can't recover your data only if you made some backups. 3. When you do link exchange between your own websites, it's good to have multiple hosting accounts with different IP's! It helps with SEO!

I like to keep things between 3 companies ( dependant on what the site needs are ) I also do the same thing with domain names , i have my domains spread around 3 companies too
Yeh if you are going to do some thing seriously than you must use not only different Servers/locations but also different company. This is not look economical at this but this is great safety measures. other wise you will say like "Now I 'm almost unemployed.. LOL"

Well, it's a good idea if you have 3-4 websites. But if you have a network of 150 websites, would you buy 150 different cpanel accounts. Even if you pay 1$ a month for every of them, it's 150$ wasted. Just get a reseller hosting or VPS and backup frequently. It will save your money for sur
