blog comments are spam when comments is not related to the blog post.
when a comment is informative or interesting do keep it or delete it?.

Is there a way of reporting spam comments to Google. Google should offer such service. An additional button on blogs 'report to search engines' would be good.

If search engines receive a large number of complaints for the same site, they should remove them from their index.

Now, the downfall is that other organisations could use this as a tactic to remove their competitors from search engines.

just google.co.uk for "ed hardy" and at least one website showing up there has backlinks only from mass blog spamming! And google continues to BS us with unique content and links will come naturally!

I think Google must warn not the blog commenter but the blog owners since blog comments needs approval to the owner.

as far as I can see - this search thing become less and less important for google - next they will offer and produce cars, then houses, cornflakes (with adsense on it) etc8)

Do not allow spammers to post links to spam sites anywhere on your site. Whether its a blog or a forum, take a firm stance against spam.

To be perfectly honest, spammers do not care about what the people at google say.
