Again Google wins in another war :)
As yo know there was a lot of time that Google has problem with China's government. But today China's government confirmed that it renewed Google Inc.’s Internet license.
Why all countries and companies should reach to an agreement with Google?

Other countries dont have the censorship that china do so most places do not even require permission for google to setup shop , China imo are better off with out google , If china want to censor certain things then it takes away google "natural search" it then becomes and edited search for the people of china.

They have simply managed to prolong the licence, and are still redirected on the Hong Kong address - and that's the real tension about it - because trough HK they manage to bypass lots of the mainland China restrictions.

I would have thought China would try to keep the clamps on Google and promote Baidu instead.

GOOD FOR Google. The company's decision to stop censoring its Chinise Search engine is more likely to mean the end of its China-based service than a breakdown of Beijing's political firewall. But more important than the question of whether Google.cn survives is the larger issue that Google has now raised for other Western companies and democratic governments -- which is whether China's gross and growing abuse of the Internet should be quietly tolerated or actively resisted.
