I'm ooking for suggestions for article directories. I've been reading on the subject it one thing I've seen mentioned a few times is that if the directory is too popular (like ezinearticles) that it can outweigh your own site in the rankings. What are your favorite directories for article submission? Also, I must be missing something. Most of the article directories I have seen, there does not seem to be a back link on the actual articles, or even the author name. Still trying to grasp where the benefit is. Do you add a backlink to your actual article, or what?
I've found that the article can outrank my own site for a few months - social bookmarking and even directories can also do the same for new sites - but then your site should rise above the articles. Only ever submit articles if you can add 1 or more links int he articles text itself (best) or else int he author resource box at the end. I like ezine, articleslash, articleblast and goarticles. Buzzle also seems respected.
Here in Triphp there's a list of article directory that you can use to drive traffic for your website and it can be found here, PHP Dir Submit - Semi-auto directory submission tool
Hi You can add link in the article body itself.Wordpress has launched article directory plug-in which is SEO friendly. Many article directories are build with this script. I have collected few of them. On these sites, you can submit article with 2 to 3 links from the article body itself. The fourth link will be from your profile. You should add a minimum of one link to your site on an article or you are just wasting a good way of getting back links. You have to read the article directory's guidelines first before you publish your article.
Actually, that is just the same number of link to put at the resources box. There are some article directory that allows up to 2 links.
Normally in Article article Body can allow maximum 2 links and the Resource Box can allow maximum 2 link
Are two links always better than one? I thought perhaps the fewer outbound links the more each will be weighed? Or is it better to just go for a bigger number?
I prefer to write a blog or create new blogs with other free blog hosting domain rather than posting in article directories.
I think some people prefer the article directories because they may have better page rank and weight than a free blog, but on the other hand if you have a blogspot site that gets regular traffic / rank then that's probably better. I've seen a few sites that seem to have paid links from random blogspots that rank really highly. I don't know why Google doesn't devalue them but it seems to work for those that don't get caught.
