I use Firefox in preference to IE. The main reason was the option of multiple windows open in tabs, but now that IE also offers this which would you say is the besyt to go with?

Firefox, without a shadow of a doubt. Not because it's features are better, but because I feel a lot safer using it. IE is known for its many security flaws.

Of course, given the choice, I wouldn't use Firefox. I'm an Opera fan and have been for the past four to five years.

With the default settings, I find Opera to be much much faster than Firefox - though Firefox can be tweaked to seem as speedy.. this is all todo with threading of connections etc. In addition to that, I find Opera runs better and crashes far less - though Firefox isn't a "big crasher" compared to some browsers *cough* IE6 *cough* :p Lastly... Opera has less of a footprint on my system in terms of memory being used etc.

I never thought of FF as being useful because of it's multi-tab ability....I use it more because it allows me to run my computer for months on end without having to reboot...IE, I have to reboot if I use it for more than a few hours....Like Jamie says, I use it more for security reasons.

Firefox for many reasons heres some...

It follows web standards. Every version of IE uses a different standard which m$ make up themselves.

The rendering engine is much nicer than IE.

    Its much better organized.

You can get some great addons (you can display page rank and alexa rank without having to install those pesky intrusive toolbars like in ie) and many other seo addons.

Of course because its safer as said above :)

I haven't used Opera in a while but this is also a nice browser probably the fastest one.

FireFox. Like many I feel far more safe using it.

Having said that, the new IE does seem an improvement, but I still doubt its security.

IE 8 seems to be much more better in surfing.

I prepare to use Firefox for it was more convenient for me to used and as SEO, it can be helpful for it has a lot of SEO tools compatibility and its an open source one.
