1. I've started a massive SPAM purge, any accounts that have spammed are being removed, also for a short period new user signups are disallowed until the SPAM cleaning is finished.

Fake Signartures are not permitted, you'll be harming your site if you create one

Ive had to send out this warning before and ill do it again since there has been a recent increase of Fake signatures on the forums, What are "fake signatures" ? ....... They are signatures that are written in to the end of a post rather than using the normal signature Box in your Usercp.

Most spammers use this method to post a bunch of posts to later go back and edit them to insert their links into the post etc.

On this forum all links posted in the post body are NoFollow , they always have been and always will be. Not only that but if fake signatures are found they will be deleted , the sites submitted to the spam databases which we use to protect the forum and potentially have all posts deleted, banned and IP banned which is also submitted to the spam database automatically by the forum.

Basically if you waste our time we'll waste yours.

Normal signatures can be edited via your Usercp and are Followed links so you reap the reward for being apart of the forum and contributing good , helpful posts.

Signatures are available to everyone which has over 30 posts in the forums.

Thanks for Following the guidelines at Triphp

maybe we will build some spanish speaking community in future. Where can I find spam databases and how do they work? Do they exclude emails, domains, IPs, and usernames? Or its just about the domains? And do it work automatic? (Hope its okay that I post these questions in this thread..)

Oh.. that was unintentional? Good to see action from your side!

Could you explain the meaning of "Your signature has been modifed, Your signature will show after Quality posts have been submited.". I don't think anyone would say my posts are useless. I see people with less posts having 3/4/5 signature links. Could you explain the rules, or point to a thread where it is mentioned?

No not intentional , If that was to ever happen there would be an official announcement. The forum rules are that users should have no more than 2 links in their signatures, if you have more the system automatically adds that comment on your signature and removes links that are more than 2

Okay, as long as the rule is same for everyone, no complaints. Used to see many users having 3 / 4 links and thought it was allowed. Sorry for the over reaction, as long as everyone is treated same, no complaints from my side.

If I can make a suggestion, an error message while editing the signature itself would be a better idea, if anyone try to add more than 2 links. I guess it will not be a difficult mod, many forums do that.

Everyone is treated in the same rule base with exception of Moderators, However there is still members which have more links because the system hasnt detected them , if you see any member with more than 2 links in their signature simply report the post using the report post button and give the reason why.

It will then be dealt with in good time.
