    Does anyone use Email Marketing with any sucsess?
    To be honest most i receive i delete without reading, so is it effective?

    What do you mean by "Email Marketing" - define it :p Do you mean "buy ****** here for $4 a pop" or ?

    Ah the power of Admin...Heh! Mny other words are also blocked!

    As for the marketing i mean using an existing database,or even buying a mailing list to send mass Emails with adverts.

    Nah, I wouldn't bother with that - especially the buying of mailing lists! Messages will be seen as SPAM no matter how formal and pretty they look, I personally get annoyed by that sort of thing!

    Sending to existing mailing lists may work if targetted properly. For example, you could e-mail every member of these forums with information of a new web hosting review site - that would be targetted and in my opinion OK :) [smiley : ) doesnt work.. image not found? - been meaning to mention for a while lol]

    Agree with Mike. Email compain may be beneficial only if subscribers asked for it.
    Otherwise - straight to the trash folder

    I don't like email marketing because the emails I got are from foreign countries and even the stuff they offer is excellent I can't purchase, but whenever I got email advertisement from local companies then I must read them because if I find them useful then I know I can get them.

    So I think email marketing is powerful when you cater local customers because they can reach you easily as compare to others.
