Pay per click (PPC) advertising, search engine marketing (SEM) and search engine optimization (SEO) are all part of the internet marketing business used to help promote a website which in return brings an enormous and continuous amount of net traffic to it for the purpose of worldwide advertisements.

These internet marketing methods can indefinitely boost the number of product and service sales of a website, especially ecommerce and business company websites in a very cost-effective and intelligent manner.

PPC campaigns are often part of a webmaster's marketing strategy because it is proven to work by many with great profitable results. Pay per click advertisements such as Google Adwords has a greater potential to bring more ROI (return of investment) and requires smaller amount of investments than any other medium of advertising, given if you are applying the correct strategy.

Most SEO and web design companies have the knowledge to help webmasters with their internet marketing campaigns through PPC management services, search engine marketing and such. An effective and successful PPC campaign should go through the following steps:

    1. Market research. This is the first stage where the process of identifying the market, understanding the pattern of the market and how the various factors such as geography, language and interest that could cause the fluctuations in the market is taken place.
    2. Keywords research. Once the market is determined, the next thing we should do is to search for the relevant keywords in search engines. Different people have different interests and they come from different places and countries, using different languages. Thus there is no surprise that a huge variety of search terms are used in the internet everyday. To be successful in your PPC campaign, it is important to identify the keywords that are most used by both users and competing advertisers. Taking advantage of geographical locations when you are targeting local audience can produce significant result. For instance, if you are targeting visitors from Chicago, then consider consulting your local Seo Company, The Ocean Agency or Avenue Web Media for your marketing strategies.
    3. Campaign monitoring. It is crucial to constantly monitor an ongoing campaign and keep track of the performance level of each keyword. Keywords that gradually have less click-trough rate and not performing well should be discontinued. More focus and investments should be made on the productive keywords.
    4. Search for more keywords. A successful PPC campaign is when your website's name comes up on many keywords, thus higher chances of getting more click-troughs. As an ongoing advertising effort, it is important to keep looking for more productive keywords to keep up with the competition.

Pay-per-click advertising can be very effective channel for increasing your brands reach but PPC branding campaigns are often cost prohibitive. Bidding to top positions for your industry core terms is an excellent way to expose your brand to new audiences but the “short term ROI be-damned” strategy is usually risky business. Below are 9 strategies to help you build your brand without burning through your spend.

    1. Start with the campaign structure and creatives. Separate your branded terms from your other terms so that your ad creatives can be more easily controlled. Searches for your branded terms should always trigger ads with strong brand-based titles and messaging instead of your more traditional ads for industry terms.
    2. Bid on your branded terms, slogans and all their variations. While most everyone bids on their own branded terms, few remember to bid on slogans, alternate spellings and Typos. While correctly spelled brand searches may often lead to your companys organic search listings, casting a wide net ensures you capture searchers who are actively interested in your brand but might otherwise not be able to find you. These bids are especially important for capturing word-of-mouth referrals.
    3. Bid on branded terms in your industry. Brand based search terms are a common method of navigation and often have very little competition. Even high-volume branded terms often have only a handful of competitors and are usually available with low minimum CPCs. Make sure you follow the advertising platform’s terms of service and avoid using anyone elses branded or trademarked terms in your creatives.
    4. Bid on your domain name and variations. Domain searches are also a popular means of navigation and generally less competitive. Bidding on your own domain name makes it more difficult for your competitors to appear prominently and bids for variations of your domain name are a great way to ensure you capture all potential visitors. Just like misspelled branded terms, offering searchers easy access to your website, despite their challenges with typing or spelling, is a great way to start their visitor experience on a positive note.
    5. Bid on your competitions domain name and variations. Select a few of your competitors whose products or services align closely with your own and present searchers your brands core messaging. Just like bids for your own domain, be sure to include variations like “domain.com”, “domaincom”, etc.
    6. Bid on tradeshow and conference names. If you company spends a great deal of time and money on industry events, reinforcing your industry presence via PPC is an excellent way to maximize your investment. Start by creating a nice landing page for each event that explains your company’s involvement and then tailor your ads’ creatives to include a summary. Ads appearing just before and just after each event are an excellent way to seed event attendees with your brand and reinforce your participation.
    7. Bid on the names of your company’s awards. Whether your company has just been nominated for an award or you’ve just won your industry’s most prestigious honor, drawing attention to your achievement is always beneficial. Be sure to create an informative landing page that also includes links to further background reading on the award or nomination.
    8. Bid on the names of your organizations key employees. Running ads for the names of your key industry and customer facing employees increases the likelihood that a positive brand message reaches the searcher.
    9. Take the high ground. While it would be quicker and easier to only create a couple of groups to target several groups of terms, investing the time to create highly-targeted landing pages and ad copy is critical step that can not be overlooked. Don’t bother trying to run a pay-per-click branding campaign if you aren going to fine tune the details “ if you do you are just exposing your brand to more people, not building value.

    Effective PPC Campaign Strategies?

Advertising via pay per click (PPC) ads is a great and very cost-effective way to promote your business or website. Unlike traditional advertising methods, PPC providers (e.g. Google, Yahoo, MSN etc.) allow you to effectively target your intended market. Advertisers can specify keywords to capture pre-qualified web traffic to their websites. Users searching for a particular keyword will see your matching ads. The potential for very high conversion ratios are enormous.
Pay per click business advertising is an excellent way to launch your product or service on the Web. It is cost-efficient since you’re only paying for traffic that from your target market. You are given greater control on the success of your campaign as well. This type of Internet advertising strategy gives you much more value for your money.
Listed below are 5 pay per click expert tips to help you build the best PPC campaign for your business
    1: Select Specific, Niche-Relevant Keywords
Place yourself in your customer’s shoes. How would they search for your product/service on Google? Understand your market or niche well. Research the keywords someone would most likely use to lead to your product or service. The right set of keyword doesn’t have to catch a lot of traffic – just those people who are most likely to purchase from you.
2: Write Specific and Unique Ad Copies
Any pay per click expert would tell you that simple, specific and unique ads work best. Your ad headline should be straight-to-the point. Use your keyword on your ad headline and description as well. Including the product/service’s competitive price may also help your ad stand out.
3: Tailor-fit Your Ads For Every Keyword
A customized ad for every keyword you’re using will bring better results than a generic one. Customized ads matching the keyword used by searchers will get more attention and interest. Highlight your Unique Value Proposition. Observe proper formatting and please, no grammatical errors. Include your call to action as well.
    4: Customize Your Landing Page
This is the most often-ignored part of most PPC campaign. A pay per click expert will tell you that your landing page must be related to the ad or keywords used to get to it. This avoids customer confusion.
5: Optimize Your Campaign Through Trial and Error
A successfully pay per click campaign takes continuous refinement. Find out which keywords give you the most conversions or sales. Drop those keywords or ads that aren’t bringing-in the paying customers, even if they do generate lots of traffic. Remember, you pay for every click your ad gets so every click counts!

Everyone here is just posting the same stuff. Everyone know that you have to do keyword research, but I feel that some of you are missing the mark. I've been doing Pay Per Click for 10 years and I will give away some secrets to a successful adwords campaign.

1.) Make sure you have Google Analytics installed on your website. Google will allow you to autotag your urls so that you click data is applied to your analytics reports.

2.) Make sure you have conversion tracking installed as well. This will help you find out what keywords are producing sales / leads / signs-ups. From this data you can get a better idea of what keywords you should be bidding on.

3.) Make sure you build out a robust negative keyword list. You can get search term data within Google Adwords that shows you all the search terms users are typing that displays your ads. From there you will find keywords that have nothing to do with your business, which in results you can exclude from your campaign. This will help you get more targeted traffic to your website and spend your money more wisely.

4.) When creating adgroups make sure you are not combining all your keywords within an adgroup. Example:

    college classes
    college courses
    college programs
    college training

You could easily place all of those keywords within one adgroup, but in reality you would want to create 4 separate adgroups for each one of those keywords. This helps you with testing and it will give you a better quality score if your ad text is created in the correct manner

5.) Utilize utm_nooverride=1 when you can. This will help you find out what keywords are actually producing conversions. If you go to a site from Pay Per Click and then comeback to the site a week later through a bookmark, analytics will display conversions to the last source entered, which would have been direct.

These tips should really help you get started to a very successful campaign. Remember, always be testing.

    Thanks and enjoy!
