Online auction site eBay has said it plans to overhaul its feedback system and will ban sellers from leaving negative comments about buyers.

EBay said problems were occurring, and slowing down trade, when buyers left negative comments about sellers who then retaliated with their own views.
From May, those selling on eBay will not be able to leave unfavourable or neutral messages about buyers.
The move, which will affect users worldwide, has angered many sellers. Sellers say it will leave them unprotected.

thats bad news for buyers aswell. Mind you ebay has gotten full of rouges anyway, and the system along with paypal sucks, thats why I got well out of it. Even as a power seller the back up and support was rubbish and paypal treated you like a second rate citizen all the time, despite my fees to them being as high as they were. any normal bank would be calling me sir and offering me a cup of tea.
Ebay need a radical shake up on most of its areas, its basically grown too fast for them to cope and make sufficient changes quicly enough.

I think it's the smartest thing that they can do...It will alleviate false negatives in their system, and sellers will finally be seen as what they are, if they don't deliver, they will get a negative...Now, if they get a negative, they retaliate, and the system does not work.

I always thought that the seller should be required to leave feedback as soon as payment is made. They don't, they wait to make sure that you don't leave them a negative, which is a system that does not work.
