    Anyone using Windows 7?

I love xp pretty much the same as most of us, I brought a couple of laptops a few months ago and they had vista and I hated it, really hated it!

I am now used to vista and doesn't phase me at all, But I would consider upgrading to Windows 7 because :

Im a flash sod and like to have the new stuff

It is supposed to be quicker??

    Its not vista

From what I have read. Windows is a much slimmer OS. It is not a resource hog like Vista. It will boot up a lot faster. They listened to the complaints about Vista while they were buliding 7 and address them in the new system.

since media has become so popular they have upgraded movie maker and other media rich programs. I am running it on this laptop yet on my desktop it has XP.

My plan is to get the 3 license (update version) package going for about 200$ and do all my comps.

10gigs for a fresh install. 3/4 Gigs if you are updating XP. Not sure about vista.

That should have been 4/5 Gigs for updating XP.

You should definitely upgrade to Windows 7 and if you just bought a new PC you should have a free upgrade.

Windows 7 gets improved a lot. It has more features than existing operating systems. It was intended to be a more focused, incremental upgrade to the Windows line, with the goal of being fully compatible with applications and hardware with which Windows Vista is already compatible.

Well I was round a friends the other day he wanted me to burn some dvds for him on his laptop. Well when booting up it was fast, very fast!
It seems easy to use and not a hugh amount different from any other windows really, just modern

But when we started to burn the dvds its crashed 3 times, and took over a hour to burn a dvd!

We downloaded a trail of nero and that burnt in about 1minute!

I think ill wait for a while

Does it seem to anyone else that every time MS releases a new version of Windows that it looks better but is much less stable?

I think they hired a bunch of graphic designers and fired the technical people.

That is really too bad. I think I will have to move to Linux for my laptop soon. Ubuntu is very impressive.

Yes I have recently upgraded my OS to windows7 as I think it is the best OS. As it is new, having a good functionality, it is quick and also supports all kinds of software applications. Also it is compatible with the PC hardware which supports XP and vista.

I've been running Win 7 for months now. After a short time with it, I turned off all the eye-candy and use it like my old Win XP, without all the frills.
I dual boot Win 7 and Ubuntu and switch regularly between them.
Both operating systems are stable and work well, but any Microsoft OS is going to be a target for hackers, so I have to use Kaspersky Internet Security when on Win 7 ...

Overall, i'm pretty happy with Microsoft's latest effort.
