    Hey,

I was wondering, do you submit your site(s) to search engines or do you let them crawl your sites over time.

I think ive only ever once submitted to search engines and that was when i first started out with my first site, mainly because i didnt know any better.

best thing IMO is to leave it , build good quality related backlinks and submit a sitemap to google and yahoo and then wait . Eventually they will visit you 8)

I submitted my sites, but I think this is just waste of time, because your first visit will be from google, and mr. G will index your site as soon it notify about some activities on your website.

Once, I get indexed with a brand new domain in just few hours after I submitted some content to my website. :D

I don't bother with Google as I beleive they find you via links. I have now started submitting to bing - largely because a site I'd created links to hadn't been indexed 6 weeks or so later.

I normally submit my site to google, yahoo, and bing. I find that I get indexed faster.

I only submit my sitemap file to G, Y, B, A for deep indexing purposes. :)

I think its still best if you submit your site to search engine to let them know there is a new site coming. Everyday there are thousands or millions of site who is being created and uploaded over the net so its better if you will introduce your site to the search engine rather than waiting for them to crawl your site.

I actually don't do it only because i want them to crawl my site. Although I make every possibly change which makes them come to my site and do the crawling. Them crawling my site makes me feel that I am more reputable and unique as they come to me and not me going there.. :D

No, I do not submit my sites to search engines.

For the major search engines, I create a webmaster tools account and submit a sitemap. That will do a lot more then just submitting a url to the homepage.

submitting your site SE's for crawling and indexing purposes are important, but in my own opinion, SE's still manage to find out new site's even though you didn't submit it to them. I think that submitting a sitemap is much more efficient than submitting site's domain.
