Well, I dropped twitter for while, because I was thinking that this can't bring me any benefits.

After I found the Google now using real time search, that is based the most on the twitter search results, I created new twitter accounts for my websites and I started again to tweeeeeeet :)

You should use it! Eventually you'll get a lot of followers :).

It's not really hard to use. All you have to do is follow lots of other people, they may follow you, and others will eventually find you. You can make money through twitter by tweeting affiliate links to your followers, however, most people just use it to gain traffic for theri websites or sell their own products.

It's probably because a lot of people "flushed" you. That means that you weren't following them, so they unfollowed you. Usually this happens through an automated program, like huitter.com.

You should use it! Btw, what niche are you in? That may be why you don't get any benefits, however, I think that any niche marketing can work on twitter, as long as you know how to use it properly.

I do use twitter and it's part of my social media marketing campaign, although recently I noticed that a lot of people are abusing twitter for the use of blatant advertising.

I have also joined Twetter for few weeks. I am following about 600 people and having about 180 followers.
I can not see any traffic to my website.
    Did I do anything wrong?
Could you explain how the traffic will come? Just wait for the followers to visit my website or I have to do something?
    Thanks for your ideas!
