I do read the rules to make sure that I'm not doing anything that I'm not supposed to be doing...Although, it's pretty difficult to remember all of the rules at all of the forums, and sometimes it comes back and bites me anyways.

This question is like Do you read the instructions of something before you start to build it LOL.

I never read the rules on a forum, its a general forum practice that if you do something you get a correction by an admin mod or member.
I still have rules on my own forum but really its only to provide a link to a person to view them should they need to be told after they have broken the rules.

I think that probably the biggest reason that I don't give infractions is because most of the time, when a member breaks the rules, it's a rule that isn't so common...Like signature link violations or affiliate links. Most posters have good intentions, the ones that don't you can usually tell right away. Like spammers. Spammers are banned right away. I did ban one member once that wasn't spamming, but it was because he stole from another of our members.

I tend to at least skim them, cause I expect the same or more at my own forum. I do read them though when I want to do something but am not sure if it's allowed.

I give at least a scan though and if I find myself posting more than just a couple of posts (plan on staying around) then I will read the rules etc before continuing.

I always take a closer look at forum rules before start posting in any forum and I think its my habit which always far me from the ban users list.

    Thanks

I do read forum first and check certain rules though sometimes and most of the forum sites that i have seen they set of rules but the admin, moderators, mentors etc. are the one who is not abiding the rules. I wish we can give a fair share to members so is always somehow having been punish and get banned or suspended because of something but i never heard a moderator or mentor being penalized in a forum.

I skim through the rules if they're long, but read them all if they're short.

I admitting I haven't read the forums rules and regulation but it doesn't matter for me as long as I didn't violate here in TriPhp.

I'll scan through the rules, but most forums have the same rules - be nice and dont spam. Some forums are relaxed on dropping a backlink here and there, and some strictly forbid linking to your own site.

Some forums have special rules on signature links, such as a minimum post count.

But pretty much all forums have the same rules. Just be nice, do not post personal insults or attacks, dont spam,,, and you should fit in.
