Hi guys, it is anyone here who have an account at LunarPages hosting?

I'm just curious, because I have an account here for 2 years and I purchased for 3 more years and now I have problems with the server and the support is 0 = zero

My account was suspended this morning (I don't know why) and I did not get any response from the support for 8 hours.

I don't know what to do know, but I can suggest to stay away from this company.

hmm i dont know why they would have done that, how much bandwidth etc does your sites use ?

I always thought that lunarpages were ok but i was only with them a short while.

Namecheap have tried to shut me down a couple of times but i found out that it was a DDOS attack that was causing the high usage so they let me back online.

Namecheaps support though is amazing , usually response with in the hour plus live support too .

If i was you i would possibly check your cpanel logs for attacks etc

I don't know what is the problem, because they just suspended my account and I got an email from them but does not explain to me why.

I send back an email to see which site caused the problem, but nor replay. This was 10 hours ago.

No I'm waiting... I tried to transfer the databases to other hosting and put my websites live again, but don't know why the database have stored the last data from december 2009.

I was looking around to read more about this and I found some great testimonials. Everyone says now that LunarPages is going to loos their value. Only down-time and suspended accounts...

Hey Proweb. I am currently with lunarpages on a dedicated II hosting plan. I recently had an attack on a website I host. I have a video sharing website and they were accessing the video files on my server repeatedly. I blew through 1.5 TB of bandwidth in 4 days. I was able to pinpoint where the attacks were coming from, Indonesia and potentially China. But because they were using a dynamic IP address I couldn't prove that it was not legitimate traffic. They shut down my server for that one website damaging the other 40 websites or so I am also hosting.

Since I decided to block IP ranges from Indonesia and China with an .htaccess mod and I couldnt get any bandwidth refunded I decided to "pay as I go." My credit card was current but every night at midnight they would shut down my server while they waited for 10 dollars to be verified, this verification process would sometimes take hours.

My argument to them was that I am paying for 99.9 % uptime as part of the package, but by virtue of their payment system's inadequacy, they were shutting down my websites to confirm payment is completely unreasonable. Eventually the second tech support guy was (in a better mood) and I got them to credit me 30 GB of bandwidth.

That was the first legit problem I have had with them. I read that you have waited about 8 hours and they haven't fixed the issue. Well I am not sure if you have a dedicated plan but you can call them 24/7 and work out the issue. Sometimes I just call and yell at them.

If I were you I'd give them a call and work it out over the phone dedicated plan or not.

I've been using LP, and I've had great support/service. Apparently they're "award winning support", and have been fine for me.

I have a shared plan and they don't care about it. I did not get any response from them still yet. (24 hours)

When I have a little problem they replay in 30 minutes, but when I'm going to have big problems, they never answer. I think that there are working a couple of idiots, unable to provide hosting service... and support at all...

Proweb , maybe if they only have a database from december 09 they have actually had a big crash on a certain server ? and that was the only backup they have had ? Maybe check the sites that are on your server and see if they are down ?

I checked out this with different tools, but all websites are online on that IP. Maybe I used to much bandwidth and they punished me to have my websites down for 2 or more days.

I don't know why they can't answer to my emails. I'm really disappointed with their service and support.

I'm trying now to transfer my website somehow on other servers... what should I do?

Yes i would move away from them and host my sites somewhere else , it all depends how much bandwidth you are using maybe your sites are no longer suitable for shared hosting ? Or maybe you need to separate them on to different hosting accounts like you said before , i would imagine that singly they will be fine on shared hosting , but all together they add up to alot ?

Im now going out but will look for this thread when i return :)

After almost 3 days, now I receive an email from lunarpages, that my account was suspended, because one of my websites used to much CPU, but I need to wait more, because it takes time to get my account fixed. :(

Well, if I'm going to wait 3 more days, all of my websites will lose the ranking and I can start again from "0".

Hope, that everything will be fine, and I will get all of my websites back...

Opps thats really a bad story ...at least you should be informed by email why the account is suspended..as per our company policy if any account is causing problems on the server and is suspend ..at that moment itself the client is email with the logs of problem caused and reason of suspension.

Also request the client to get it fixed asap possible by contacting us to get the account unsuspend.. this makes things easier and safer for both us and our customers.

Happened to me as well. With LP. Same reason, same waiting time, no rankings lost. Lunarpages sucks but other hosting companies suck even more. Either go for VPS or risk to get your account suspended again.

Lol, good one, although I have used many other good shared hosting companies. The problem with vps is that we need to have basic understanding in OS, which is very different than shared, which you probably know, but not newbies.

Well, well. After I was waiting for my hosting account more than 6 days, I decide to call Lunapages. I was waiting about 30 minutes to get in touch with a technician.

After 10 minutes of discussion he unsuspended my account, but only temporary, and I need to do BIG changes to reduce the CPU usage...

I also asked about my tickets, which was waiting for about 2 days without any response... well he said, that is better to call them :D

Thats terrible service proweb , actually reminds me alot of Godaddy , Maybe Lunarpages have now grown to big to care about their customers just like godaddy. I would backup all of you sites and spread them across some other service providers

Great one of my sites that hosted on a lunarpages shared hosting has been marked a Attack site. But before there was some code wrong. Sent them two emails, they basically telling that it is not their responsibility, which I agree, but if this host was more helpful, wouldn't they get a free word of mouth marketing.

So far I have solved one of the problems, now it is time to get my site back to a safe site.

I'm glad to hear, that you have solved your problem.

The problem is that they are very busy with dedicated and VPS servers, because these clients bring to BIG money and they forgot about those people who have shared hosting.

The best way is to call them and ask for help, this way they can't ignore your problem.

I might give them a call, or maybe I will just solve the problem myself, it will take a day or so, but at the least I know they are not the company that I can depend on when there are problems.

Proweb how's your problem now, is it being solved, or are you still praying.

Well, I got my account back, but it is only a temporary thing. I need to reduce the CPU usage and to move some of my websites on other server.

I have about 5 websites with high traffic on the same account and this caused the problem.

I hope than soon I will get my account back officially :D
