1. I've started a massive SPAM purge, any accounts that have spammed are being removed, also for a short period new user signups are disallowed until the SPAM cleaning is finished.

Do you agree with me?

Well when looking at domains it should be small and catchy.. something that will stick in peoples head.. for example "Ebay,Google" etc etc they are all small one liners that people remember

What do you reckon? short or just long and catchy?

Perfect for viral marketing , Perfect for a brand name , however sites and products wont be successful based on a catchy name and non catchy names have also been successful on large scales , but yes i agree it is nice to work with something that is easy to remember providing its worth visiting

Long domain names are often good for SEO purposes. Short and catchy ones are good for humans :D

I have found Domometer to be the perfect tool for selecting good domain names. If you are looking for catchy domain names, anything that scores A+ in Domometer is (supposed to be) very catchy.

Either, Some websites receive large amounts of traffic because of their SEO friendly domain name. But I would rather go with long domain name which contains the keywords that I would be targeting.

Well for me the most important thing is that the domain name should be easy to remember whether its long or short as long as its already describe what the site is all about.

Long domain name with keywords are good for SEO but bad for humans. Long domain names are hard to memorize. Two to three hyphens in a domain name is OK... more than that makes a domain name too long.

If you're trying to sell a product and you're just starting up then a short domain would be a bad decision, as you have to build a brand name, and thats very hard work! It depends how much work you're looking to put into it. My main domain is JacktheFlipper, a play on words, but also a name I feel could be brandable

Do remember though that it does need to be 'catchy'. Something like qnbl.com isnt catchy but is short, but it is unlikely people will remember it!

definitely the shorter the better! JackTheFlipper has a good point, though, that it should be catchy as well. there's a site out there that auto-creates domain names, you should look for it, might be helpful :)

Mostly people prefer short domain names because they are more catchy and easy to remember.
