    Most of us wants to build link to a do follow sites and ignored the no follow sites. But did you know that those no follow sites can help you also to get a traffic for your site because it makes link building more natural and Google loves natural, right?

    Dofollow links on a similar site are great, nofollow links on similar sites are also great in my opinion just have less value but still worth gaining :)

    Yea you are right. Nofollow backlinks has a good contribution to traffic building. Google is the only search engine I know that don't give credits to nofollow links. Still other search engines like yahoo, MSN/Bing etc recognized nofollow backlinks.

    Dofollow links have a great value for gainng good backlinks to your site from relevant sites but nofollow links have also some importance as they get some traffic to your site.

    yeah true, remember its not always matter of link its matter of traffic too, And also its just google who care about dofollow and nodofollow Other Search engines Don't care about it, So you can increase your SERP Ranking in other search engines too By commenting on nodofollow sites or blogs

    Try to follow only the natural way that you are saying or the nofollow attributes then let's see if your google rank will increase because I doubt! google loves dofollow but when we speak of search engines other than google yes, nofollow is also good.

    That's right about Yahoo, you can always check via its "search explorer" - it includes all "nofollow" there, too.
    Above all and always - quality matters more than quantity. Quality makes the semantics, the contextual look of a web site/brand name. It's better to put effort in researching niches and finding similar content to link from rather than placing your links in thousands of directories full of what-so-ever.

    Google says nofollow doesn't have a "link juice" value, Yahoo & Bing says nothing about it. So will you follow what Google wants you to follow?

    The whole point is - as to my understanding:
    - google does not follow ( i.e. crawl ) pages linked with that attribute;
    - google does not pass the famous "link juice" - i.e. you don't get a fraction of the linking page's rank;
    - thus, links with nofollow from google's perspective have no merit related to ranking;
    Yahoo, Bing and others don't care - simply check your site's link under them compared to link operator in google.
    So you definitely need links that are nofollow clean in order to get rankings, anchor text keywords etc.
    But there is no sense, and no single reason to avoid them if you can obtain nofollow and people will visit your site !

    Your thinking about Google nofollow attributes is right, but yahoo also follow the same rule, because some time you haven't found your meta description in SERP, because search engine will display information about your site taken from the Open Directory Project (ODP) instead of your description meta tag. You can force the search engine to ignore the ODP information by including a robots meta tag like this: <meta name="robots" content="noodp">.

    From the perspective of building links to a site, dofollow links will always give you more link juice. While nofollow links won’t either harm or help your link building. We should build links on both dofollow or nofollow sites because the search engines expect to see a balance of “no follow” and “do follow” links to your site to make the links look natural, then there haven’t seen any concrete proof that the three major search engines aren’t passing some link juice through “no follows”.

    Whether no follow or do follow the site is, it plays a role in SEO having a do follow is having a link juices from search engine and traffic as well however having a no follow is just like having a traffic only that can help also in ranking. You just have to be more concern in having a do follow to have a 2 hits in a row but the is both helpful in a way.
