Can anybody tell me that Dmoz listing will be more valuable to increase PR in March 2010 google update.
In short , not really. Of course if you get into a category high enough that has PR then it will give you some PR juice , you shouldnt really worry about PR however since it gives you very little benefit in serps.
but my client wants the PR because to sell traffic and advertising then what should I do and I think google is going to update end week of march 2010.
I think Dmoz listing can help you to have a share of their traffic but i am telling you that its so hard to get listed in there.
If you built good traffic , PR will come naturally over time. Advertising should never be based on PR , if you sell text links its a fast way to get penalised from google , if that happens then all your hard work is down the drain. Build links in increase your natural search and then sell proper advertising banners. That will be consistent as long as your traffic remains high
In my own experiences, DMOZ is still helpful for PR purpose but it is not essential for higher PR. You could get a higher PR by using fresh and original contents on site plus building backlinks from high PR and niche relative sources. Thanks,
My site's traffic increase after listing in Dmoz... It gives huge traffic and that is quite helpful for increase in PR...
Backlinks from good website are always valuable. Dmoz is one of the best. But it is very tough to get listed in.
It's so hard to get listed.. and your approved link can still be deleted anytime.. it happened to me =(
Dmoz can help but don't concentrate with that site alone, try to do a lot of backlinks from different sites that relevant to your site, join different social networking and bookmarking sites, directories and listing site, forum and blogs site, article and press release submission site and always remember that upon doing this always follow white hat technique and avoid black hat techniques. On that way it will help you increase your PR if thats what you after to.
If you submit your site to the DMOZ directory, you will get a valuable link from the directory itself.
Anyway,there is no harm to your website for submitting your site to Dmoz and it will bring you the benefits
Since DMOZ is a DoFollow Directory Site ofcourse it will improve the PR of a website as long as relevant to category.
Listing in DMoz is very effective because of Google gives more important compare than other quality link .
