Well, I notice that people don't notice this button.
Apart from ego flattering :) it's a good way to show reputation and usefulness of reply, so it would be more than good if people use it more often.
So, the fact that it's rarely used means that it's not quite clearly seen and it's function understood, a typical usability issue.
It would be great if its position is changed, or even the color of the background image to provoke more often use.

I agree totally KungFu I will redesign the button and see what affect that has , Im not sure moving it would help as most people expect buttons to be there ?

Well, well, hence it has specific role...imo it could be even brought outside of the button row. I'd put in the center right below the message with "if you find this answer useful say <BUTTON_THANX>". What about this one ?
And speaking of expectations - have you tried ( free every 5 hours for one snapshot ) Feng-GUI - Feng Shui for Graphic User Interfaces ? Really useful for eye-tracking insights. I started using it and rearranging a few sites according to it and conversion booms ( used it for subscription related spots, that were usually scroll "miles" away ) !

Thats a great site, thanks for showing me that. I will have a good look at some of my sites with that too :)

Ive asked the mod creator what hook to move to be able to move the button as it isnt hard coded in the template, it relies on a hook inside a hook lol.

the point of the thread was the even rarer usage of it at the time - it was not well seen.

might be the case ( the certain posts number ). No need to be sorry as long as you're not spamming the forums :)

It has indeed got a 10 post limit , however sometimes it may take longer to kick in as it has to wait for cron to kick in to update everyones status , so it could be upto an hour before the button becomes visible to new members
