1. I've started a massive SPAM purge, any accounts that have spammed are being removed, also for a short period new user signups are disallowed until the SPAM cleaning is finished.

We have just closed our main forums on our website due to the lack of engagement, we find social media is better for interacting with customers.

    What do you guys feel?

It seems the case with many forums these days. Not much posts and increasing spam. People are moving towards social networks.

I feel sad that some of the forums that were so active in the past years (2000s) are now closing down for the lack of engagement. Moderators are no longer active, thus the reign of the spam threads as well as activation of archived threads just for the sake of increasing the number of posts.

I don't think that forums are slowly dying as because there are still huge amount of users who keep their interests in forums. And I believe that throw community/board people are not only getting close to each-other but they are learn new things form that.:)

I don't think so because there are still reputable forum sites out there that is serving its members to learn and experience related concerns to help them in many ways.
