http://www.alltheweb.com is another search engine, they index their sites based on msn and yahoo, not google because google does not index everything, they get their indexes from the sites located in those two engines. i think they are owned by msn, not sure about that. but i use it from time to time, they have a large image database, bigger than google
so they arent owned by google, that confirms that, check your backlinks from msn or yahoo, alltheweb and altavista always gives me the same or close to same results lol, owned by same companies
Alltheweb used to be called FAST. it is part ok the inktomi network that Yahoo! bought a few years back.

alltheweb was quite interesting engine few years ago until yahoo bought them... they had great image search maybe better then google i think it was builded by some norwegian students now it is just yet another search engine :~
i remember back int he day using lycos and http://www.mamma.com/ Google is doing something right because i haven't used another search engine in over a year. Have found everything i have searched for in the past 12 months using google
