Well, not exactly, I'm more of a PHP/MySql and HTML/CSS guy. I don't care too much for JavaScript.

Basically, Ajax is not a new scripting language, it's based on JavaScript and XML. It's used to allow communication between JavaScript and the server using HTTP headers. To learn to use Ajax, you'll first need to learn JavaScript and XHTML.

To get started using JavaScript, go to http://www.w3schools.com/js/default.asp.

After you become comfortable with JavaScript, you'll find that learning Ajax is quite easy. Good luck.

Pretty much. If you can learn javascript, then learning ajax is just making an improvement on what you already know.

It is so simple to explain Ajax. It is combination of Javascript and XML. Modern RSS feeds are successful example of this and you can check these everywhere on different blogs and forums. You can even store your data and retrieve later in XML files.
