I don't have LCD screen but I am planning to buy one very soon.

I saw a new model of ViewSonic, it is a widescreen LCD.

My question is that on widescreen monitors the "Object" appears exactly as it appears on normal monitors or it is "Stretched" because the screen is wide?

If I make a circle in my design software, will it show round or a little oval because of the widescreen?

I hope you understand my question.

No, widescreen means you have a wide screen. It doesn't mean your content gets pulled around. It just means you have more visual area to work with. That is, assuming you buy a good monitor. There are some low grade LCD's that don't respect dimensions. If you plan on using for design, then make sure you pay at least 400-450+. Otherwise you can expect colours to not be "perfect".

You get what you pay for, I guess. Personally I prefer a dual monitor setup.

I think Widescreen LCD Screens doesn't extend the working area though I have no experience on it.

we had some problems with widescreens at work.

better double check before you buy it, although the software we are using at work is not design related i think if you want to be 100% safe better do your research first

Last year I went from regular screen to a wide screen my sites all looked the same. You just have more area to work. :) It's great for photoshop with all the pallets and stuff like that.

Eyagh! Dont tell me you are still using a CRT monitor Jani. And my friend bought a ViewSonic ws monitor (about a year ago)... I was initially skeptical about its quality but now I sand corrected.

You really want to pay attention to the resolution when buying a flat-screen. If you see a 24'' monitor, and the resolution is 800x600 - It's a good bet that monitor isn't going to look that great. :(

I'm using a 19inch ViewSonic monitor. So far, I don't have any problems with it. No dead pixels whatsoever. It's been with me for more than a year now.

I don't think the content or picture will be Stretched out. It's a great technology, You should go with it. It also gives you much free space on your desk as well.

Since the PC knows the screen resolution, it will display correctly. The problem that you mention is with TV, since the image has a fixed resolution and no pixels can be added to fill the screen. Resulting in a stretched image.

No it doesn't extend any pictures from their original size and it shows the normal picture of their own size and the only thing is that the pictures are very clear and the LCD monitor does not occupy more space.

No, the wide screen will not show the circle as oval, the right method is that it will show in a larger size when compared to the ordinary monitor.
