I just a read an article discussing about Facebook and the percentage of it in how it become equally close to a search engine, check out the whole story about this on WebProNews.

Perry Drake, a vice president of Drake Direct and a professor at New York University says "In the US Facebook accounts for, now get this, 1 in every 4 or 25% of our total pageviews. Unbelievable! Google on the other hand accounts for only 8% of the total pageviews (or 1 in 12)."

With that it seems like social network is approaching on beating Google in different ways. So, what is your opinion about this?

Right, social networks like twitter and facebook are becoming a new trend on Internet marketing arena. The big problem for me is how to use such channels more effectively. :)

In social Networks, the first thing you have to do is to gain reputation to other members, make friends and participate with their discussion, share ideas and opinion like you do in a forum site. Like twitter, the more friends you have the more traffic you will get by making a single twitt. 1 twitt x no. of friends/followers = no. of traffic you will get.

    Get it?

They are a different type of "search" or website sharing.

No wonder how social networking emerge right now, it seems that social networking are on the hot seat right now. though its hard to say whether social networking site can beat Google on just the basis on page view.
