I'm not quite sure what it is, I have heard it be associated with a lot of forum softwares, blogs, and everything else out there.

Used it, liked it for awhile, then just stopped using it. No idea why. I got tired of it and it was really confusing on how to do things, and so I just stopped. The main problem was that no matter how many times you modified Joomla, it still looked like Joomla. It's not like you could make it look much different than what you already get.

well it's really easy to use. it's true that you can customize it, but it has numerous templates from which you can choose the one that fits your website.

Thats why I get it from the official Joomla! site, no need to worry about exploits/hacks.
