Hard disk

One of our tech guys accidently ran mkfs on a hard disk on a Redhat system.
We would like to recover the data from this hard disk. What is the possible way that we can recover the data?Any suggestion is very helpful.

Hi

I am not an Redhat person but as far as I know, the data is still there but I don't think you can recover it.

I may be wrong though
